There was a huge drama unfolding in full public view as two women and a few men got involved in a scuffle in a marketspace in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar. A video of the incident has gone viral online and is rapidly gaining traction on social media.
The incident reportedly took place in the market area of Padartha village, under the jurisdiction of the Pathri police station, following a dispute between the women and some local men.

The video shows a group of people gathered at the roadside as a confrontation unfolds. Amid the commotion, a man is seen physically attacking two women, including kicking and hitting them, while others playing mute spectators around the spot.
The roadside scuffle drew a large crowd, with several people watching as the altercation continued.
According to police, the women and the accused individuals are reportedly involved in an ongoing dispute. The women had allegedly approached the Pherupur police outpost earlier and submitted a complaint in connection with the matter.
Pathri Station House Officer Ravindra Kumar said police were examining the viral video to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. He added that no fresh formal complaint concerning the assault had been received so far.
The incident has raised concern over the assault of women in a public place and the circumstances that led to the confrontation.
Police are trying to determine the identities and roles of those involved after examining the footage and gathering further information.
