An Australian man has been arrested in Bali after allegedly being caught with dozens of packets of cannabis and other suspected drugs.
Arron Robert Brokenshire, 36, from Mona Vale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, was arrested at the Dewi Sri Apartment in Denpasar’s Pemogan Village about 7pm local time on August 10.
Denpasar Police said the arrest followed days of investigation after receiving a tip-off from the local community that a foreign man was allegedly distributing drugs in South Denpasar.
Police searched Brokenshire’s room and allegedly found 37 small packets containing cannabis, with a total weight of 36.64g.
Officers also allegedly found two packets of tobacco suspected of containing narcotics, weighing a total of 21.30g.
A bong allegedly used to smoke methamphetamine and an electronic scale were also seized.
Police allege Brokenshire told investigators he bought the cannabis from another person for IDR2 million (about $A160) at Kuta Beach.
While police are working to identify the seller, they allege Brokenshire was a drug dealer.
Police said Brokenshire would be charged over the alleged possession and distribution of cannabis and tobacco suspected of containing synthetic narcotics.
If convicted, he could face up to 12 years in prison.
