Kalyan Bainsla, the man accused of chasing and hitting a woman biker with his car in Gurugram, has denied deliberately ramming into her motorcycle, saying he was unaware that a woman was riding the bike.

In an exclusive talk with India Today TV, Bainsla said the incident took place on Sunday morning when he was travelling with his cousin. He claimed two bikers repeatedly overtook him from the side, moved ahead of his car and then slowed down. “I did not hit them intentionally,” Bainsla said, adding that he was sorry the woman was injured.

Bainsla’s comments come after videos of the incident, recorded on cameras mounted on the bikers’ motorcycles, went viral on social media. The woman has alleged that the occupants of the car followed her and that the driver was driving aggressively before the car rammed her motorcycle.

‘CHECK THE CCTV’

Responding to the allegations, Bainsla said the sequence shown in the viral videos did not present the complete picture. “They were repeatedly coming in front of me and then slowing down the bike,” he said. “Am I going around hitting everyone? You can check the CCTV,” he added.

He also claimed that the bikers turned their motorcycle without looking into the car’s mirror and lost control, resulting in the collision. “Let’s assume that the collision happened accidentally. I accept that a mistake happened,” Bainsla said.

He maintained that he had been asking the bikers to ride more slowly rather than attempting to hit them. “I was also saying in the video that you are riding well, but ride slowly. Don’t keep troubling me repeatedly,” he said, while insisting that the complete video should be examined.

‘DID NOT KNOW IT WAS A GIRL ON THE BIKE’

Bainsla said he regretted that the woman was injured but claimed he did not know she was riding the motorcycle at the time of the collision. “I am sorry that a mistake happened. I did not know that there was a girl on it,” he said.

He also said he would respond to allegations against him if they affected his family.

“If people are saying these things, and if it comes to my family, I will definitely speak up and say that nothing like this happened,” Bainsla said.

‘NO CASE AGAINST ME’

Bainsla also stressed that he had no previous criminal cases against him. “There has never been a case against me in my name,” he said.

The woman’s account of the incident differs sharply from Bainsla’s version. She has alleged that the car had been following her and driving aggressively before swerving into her motorcycle. A fellow biker’s helmet camera also captured a chase after the collision, during which the rider briefly confronted the man when the car stopped at a traffic signal before it drove away.

The Gurugram traffic police are investigating the incident after the videos surfaced online. The injured biker has said she will file an FIR with her lawyer and pursue legal action.
