A teenage girl has died after a horrific collision between a car and kangaroo.
Emergency services were contacted around 9.40pm on Saturday with reports of a car crash on the Princes Highway at Boydtown, about eight kilometres from Eden in New South Wales.
Police said a Toyota Landcruiser had hit a kangaroo on the road, which caused it to roll down an embankment nearby.
A 14-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the back, died at the scene.
The driver, a 20-year-old man, was trapped in the car before being freed and taken to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.
A 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were also inside the vehicle at the time of the collision.
They were treated by paramedics at the scene and the woman was taken to hospital.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the crash has been launched.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
