An 11-year-old girl has died following a horror crash, which has also left a woman fighting for life.
At about 6.45pm on Tuesday, two cars collided in Moana, one of Adelaide’s coastal outer suburbs.
The incident involved a Nissan sedan and a Subaru station wagon, which were both travelling on Commercial Rd.
Police confirmed the passenger of the Nissan, an 11-year-old girl from Christie Downs, died at the scene.
The driver, a 35-year-old woman, also from Christie Downs, is fighting for life after being taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the Subaru, a 37-year-old man from Seaford Meadows, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries, but has since been discharged.
The young girl becomes the 81st person to lose their lives on South Australian roads this year — a sobering rate of a death every three days.
Police have urged anybody who witnessed the crash, or who has dashcam footage from the area, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
