A body has been found in the burnt-out shell of a house west of Brisbane, with police launching an investigation into the overnight fire.
Emergency services were called to the two-storey brick house on Verran Street, Bellbird Park, about 5pm on Thursday.
Four firetrucks were on the scene, and found the house partly ablaze when they arrived, with the fire extinguished by 6pm.
A male in his 30s was taken to Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition with minor smoke inhalation and burns.
The body, which is yet to be identified, was discovered during a walk-through on Friday morning, after initial searches by the firefighters had accounted for everyone involved.
Searches of the second storey on Thursday night had to be conducted by firefighters on ladders, as the fire had damaged the structural integrity of the building.
