Lachie Neale and his new girlfriend have taken things to the next stage: pet names.
The now-former Brisbane Lions star has shared his cute nickname for his new love on Instagram.
Emma Field, 29, shared a carousel of images on Wednesday and, in true nonchalant new-relationship style, placed a photo of her and Neale at number 12 in the 17-image post.
The selfie was taken after the AFL Grand Final, where Neale’s side beat the Fremantle Dockers in the final minutes.
Field had already shared the image to her Instagram Stories, but has now given it a permanent spot on her grid among photos from her past few weeks.
She captioned the carousel: “A very fun couple of weeks,” and used Paramore’s Ain’t It Fun as the soundtrack, further cementing that she’s having a pretty good time.
Neale, 33, then jumped into the comments with a simple but telling message: “Effy x,” revealing his sweet pet name for his new girlfriend.

The public exchange is the latest sign the new couple are becoming increasingly comfortable sharing their relationship with their followers.
Just days earlier, Field proudly backed her new partner at the MCG as Brisbane claimed the AFL premiership, watching from the stands in a customised jacket with “NEALE 9” across the back.
She shared photos from the game as Neale took to the field for Brisbane before posting the couple’s biggest public display yet after the final siren.
The selfie now given a permanent place on Field’s grid showed the pair together during the Lions’ post-match celebrations.
The couple had only soft-launched their relationship on Instagram weeks earlier.
Neale initially shared a solo photo of Field standing on a balcony, which she reposted to her own Instagram Stories with a heart-hands emoji.
Field later included an image of Neale in an Instagram carousel, although he was again buried among the other photos as the pair appeared to keep their relationship relatively low-key.
Their romance emerged publicly following the breakdown of Neale’s marriage to estranged wife Jules.
Jules revealed in August that she had discovered Neale had been having what she described as an ongoing four-month affair with her close friend Tess Crosley.
“I found out through one of the other partners at the club,” she told the Pretty Sure podcast.
“I guess it was an ongoing, four-month affair with my best friend, behind my back.

“It’s the worst feeling in the world, because you’re like, you just question everything.”
Crosley later broke her silence on the scandal in an interview on Daily Mail’s podcast The Debrief.
“I have made some bad decisions I deeply regret, but I believe that I’m not a bad person,” Crosley said.
Neale previously publicly apologised for his actions amid the breakdown of his marriage.
“I have let my family down, and I apologise for my actions that have let down those that are closest to me,” he said.
Jules has since returned to Perth with the former couple’s two children, while Neale has moved on with Field.
The 29-year-old Queensland advertising professional had largely remained out of the spotlight before her relationship with the AFL star became public, but the couple have steadily become more open on social media.

Neale’s increasingly public relationship comes as he begins a major new chapter off the field as well.
The two-time Brownlow medallist has signed with Collingwood after calling time on his decorated stint with Brisbane, with the 2026 premiership marking his final game in Lions colours.
