Megan Fox is fronting a campaign for an erectile dysfunction medication – a role she thinks she was “born for”.

The Jennifer’s Body actress – who has four children with ex-husband Brian Austin Green and 18-month-old daughter Saga with former partner Machine Gun Kelly – embodies healthcare company Ro’s prescription treatment Ro Sparks in a cheeky TV ad, which sees her deliver product information through a series of teasing double entendres.

She says at one point in the advert: “If prescribed, I show up right at your door. Don’t worry, my packaging is very discreet.”

Megan told People magazine of the campaign: “I personally feel like maybe I was born for this. There’s not a better person to have been involved in this.

“Why take something that is already a heavy topic and make it heavier? It already feels serious, so let it feel fun.”

The Transformers star was surprised at the tone of the campaign, as she initially thought she’d have to ask for it to be “funnier and sexier”, but ultimately she requested things be toned down a little.

She said: “I thought we were going to have to go back with a bunch of notes and be like, ‘Guys, this should be way funnier. This should be sexier. This should be more playful.’

“We actually had to go back and be like, ‘Maybe we could dial it down a little bit,’ because they really went for it with some of the jokes and the innuendos – which I love.”

Megan hopes the cheeky ads will help ease the shame surrounding the condition and encourage men to speak more openly about it.

She said: “You’re not defective. Something’s not wrong with you. You can talk about this. You don’t have to hide it.

“Women experience all these standards we’re meant to live up to, whether it’s weight, appearance, youth, having perfectly smooth skin, a thigh gap or no hip dips.

“For men, virility and sexuality are tied to their identity. So much of their masculinity, identity, ego is wrapped up in this issue… I think we need to remove that stigma and taboo, and educate people – men in particular – that [ED] is actually pretty common.”

The 40-year-old star noted erectile dysfunction (ED) can impact both people in a relationship, so it is important for women to be part of the conversation too.

She said: “Anyone who’s been married or in a long-term relationship knows your sex life goes through peaks and valleys.

“When it’s in those valleys, the conversations are very important. Transparency is very important, and your ability to support your partner and help them feel comfortable speaking about these things is very important as well…

“We’re on the same team. We want the same thing. Let’s do this together.”
