Nicole Kidman has “love and trust” for Joey King.

The 59-year-old actress has heaped praise on Joey, admitting to being amazed by what she’s achieved in Hollywood before turning 30.

The Oscar-winning actress – who starred alongside Joey in Practical Magic 2, the new fantasy movie – told TIME: “Joey makes me laugh. A full belly laugh.

“She’s also someone I can sit and talk with for hours, about absolutely anything. And then I watch her onscreen and I see the future.

“She’s been acting for 23 years—and she’s only 27!—building an extraordinary career from Ramona and Beezus, The Dark Knight Rises, and Crazy, Stupid, Love to The Act, Bullet Train, and We Were the Lucky Ones, always with curiosity, courage, humour, and a willingness to take risks.

“Onscreen, she’s been my daughter (A Family Affair) and now my niece (Practical Magic 2). But Joey has become so much more to me off-screen. She’s someone I love and trust, and someone I know will be in my life long after the cameras stop rolling.

“The Owens women of Practical Magic say, ‘My blood. Your blood. Our blood’. That’s Joey to me. She’s family.”

Meanwhile, Joey previously admitted that she loves to reminisce about her old movies.

The actress – who starred alongside Jacob Elordi and Joel Courtney in The Kissing Booth, the 2018 teen romcom – told IndieWire: “Everyone’s different, of course, but I love viewing my career [as a] time capsule of what my life was like at the time.

“And whether I’ve moved on to projects that are different, either more mature, [or] different genres, I love looking back at my earlier films [like] The Kissing Booth.

“It’s really special to be able to be like, ‘Oh, this is where I was in life at this time’. Very rarely do people have a literal film or television show that captures a moment of their life that they were in, that will always be there. And I find that to be so special.”
