Brisbane 2032 have spoiled their own grand unveiling, accidentally leaking their cockatoo-inspired Olympic and Paralympic emblem days before a planned grand ceremony.
The official Brisbane 2032 YouTube channel seemingly leaked the Games’ emblem ahead of a planned unveiling.
The channel had prepared a “Emblem Explainer” video to go live on Monday; however, the preview image showed the completed emblem for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Four parts of the emblem had been revealed in Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and the Sunshine Coast over the last week as part of a statewide tour and marketing campaign leading up to a grand finale set for Monday morning.
More parts were planned for reveal in Brisbane this weekend.
Sporting stars such as Sam Thaiday and Johnathan Thurston, Olympic legend Natalie Cook and Paralympic star Alexa Leary featured in the campaign.

Not only was the image prematurely released, but the meaning behind the image – which had been the topic of speculation on social media all week – was also explained.
“The Brisbane 2032 Emblems are inspired by the spirited cockatoo – a symbol of Australia’s unique wildlife and playful heart!” a YouTube caption reportedly read.

“The cockatoo’s crest is a living torch, reminiscent of the iconic Olympic and Paralympic flame.
“Shaped like Queensland, with its eye on Brisbane, the Emblem is a universal symbol to unite Brisbane, Australia and the world in 2032.”
Although the image was only live until about 7.15pm, eagle-eyed Reddit users had already got a hold of the story, taking screenshots and sharing the message online.
