Ben Affleck is not in any rush to get back into the dating scene following his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
The 54-year-old actor said striking up romances is not a “big priority in my life” right now, as he is focused on work and being present for his children, Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14, whom Ben has with his 54-year-old ex-wife, actress Jennifer Garner.
He told Entertainment Tonight: “I work a lot, and I see my kids, and there’s not a lot of room. I’m not running around.”
Ben also shut down The View host Ana Navarro’s claim that she tried to set him and pop megastar Shakira, 49, up, although Ana has “never met” him.
He told the reporter: “I hear s*** like that honestly first from people like you. I swear to God, I never heard that in my whole life.”
“I often hear rumours, and I think it’s because, how many single [men]… some people gossip. Stuff gets made up. I don’t really ever get set up, really …
“But no, that’s not true.”
Ben insists he is in a “good place” since he and Lopez, 57, finalised their divorce in January 2025 after two years of marriage,
The Good Will Hunting star added: “I’m good and I’m happy. I know what my priorities are. You can’t have two things that are the most important in your life. For me that’s the kids. So that’s what that is.
“And then I have my work, which I love. And, you know, I’m where I’m at, and I’m great. Who knows what adventures life will bring? I’m open to it, but I’m not trying to chase anything.”
Lopez is also in her “happy era” following her divorce from Ben.
In a preview of her interview on Nightline that was broadcast during ABC’s Good Morning America on March 11, the On the Floor hitmaker said: “I’m in my happy era. I think, for the first time in my life, I feel like I’m free; I’m on my own. And it feels really good.
“I didn’t really know what that felt like since I was in my early 20s – and even before that. I’ve always had boyfriends. There was always someone in my life, and so many things that I felt like were out of my control.”
“I’ve gotten to the point where I really trust myself and appreciate myself a little bit more, instead of being so hard on myself and always trying to prove myself.”
