A man has been charged with murder after a baby died of “significant internal injuries” in a Brisbane hospital.
Queensland Police say the three-month-old boy was taken to Ipswich Hospital on October 1 with serious injuries.
He was transferred to Queensland Children’s Hospital, where he spent five days in intensive care before dying of his injuries.
On Tuesday night, detectives from the Ipswich Child Protection Investigation Unit arrested a 28-year-old man.
Police say the man was “known to the child” and has since been charged with one count of domestic violence murder.
He will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
