A woman was duped of Rs 4 lakh in a cyber scam after fraudsters posing as bank officials contacted her on the pretext of redeeming her credit card points, police said.
In her police complaint, the woman said she received a call from a person posing as a bank official, who told her about redeeming her credit card points.
The caller then tricked her into completing various procedures.

After this, around Rs 4 lakh was withdrawn from her two bank accounts.mThe woman came to know about the withdrawals and subsequently approached the police.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. They are collecting details related to the bank accounts, transactions and people allegedly associated with the fraud.
The police are now trying to trace the accused on the basis of the transaction history of the money.
Indore Police has also been running awareness campaigns against cyber fraud and advising people not to share banking information, respond to unknown calls or click on suspicious links.
Despite the awareness efforts, cases of cyber fraud continue to be reported.
