The Prime Minister has jokingly threatened to reinstate HECS debt should a man act up with his fictional daughter during a bizarre cameo with a popular comedy duo.

Comedy duo Isaac Gibbons and Jack Say, known for their podcast “swag on the beat”, have enlisted Anthony Albanese for their latest skit.

Mr Albanese takes on the role of a protective father having a stern talk with his daughter’s partner in the video posted to Instagram.

Gibbons, playing Mr Albanese’s fictional daughter, asks her partner if he’s “nervous”.“I’m pretty good with parents. What did you say he does again?” Say, playing the role of the boyfriend, James, asks.

“He’s his own boss,” the fictional daughter replies before James’ jaw drops when Mr Albanese opens the door.

“Nice to meet you mate,” Mr Albanese says before pulling a shell-shocked James in for a handshake and stern word.

“Bear in mind, I’m very protective of my daughter. And if you break her heart, I can reinstate your HECS debt,” Mr Albanese says to him.

The Prime Minister is nothing but smiles for his fake daughter when he pulls away, telling her “it’s so good to see you”.

Thousands have flocked to the comments, with fellow comedians The Inspired Unemployed — who recently appeared in Kylie Minogue’s performance at the 2026 AFL Grand Final — writing “wtf” with a laughing emoji.

“‘Hey albo wanna be in a skit?’ wtf,” the account wrote.

TV personality Osher Gunsberg called it the “best crossover episode ever”, while another wrote “like him or not … this is a crazy collab”.

Others weren’t as thrilled, with one commenting “this is not it” and another writing “you guys are now sellouts”.
