Parents and carers have been urged to immediately stop using a baby monitor due to a defect that could cause serious injury or death.
The “Spy Baby” car monitor has been urgently recalled due to a fault which can cause the adhesive pad to fail and lead to the display screen falling off windscreens and dashboards.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s Product Safety alert states there can be “risk of serious injury or death if the screen falls from the windscreen or dashboard and hits or distracts the driver and causes an accident”.
“Instances of the pad melting or detaching have occurred,” it states.
Consumers have been urged to stop using it immediately and remove it from vehicles.

The affected products have the barcode 9369900114806.
“Only units purchased between 8 September 2026 and 2 October 2026, in the ‘new box design’, are affected,” the alert states.
Replacements and refunds are available, with consumers urged to contact the Spy Baby company.
