Cowan was taken to hospital via ambulance after a night out, according to a source with knowledge of Cowan’s situation who did not wish to be quoted. In a second incident, Hayward went to hospital on Sunday morning to be treated for a cut to the head after falling following a night out.

Hayward woke up on Sunday morning with a headache and sought medical treatment, according to a source with knowledge of the situation who did not wish to comment publicly. Hayward took an Uber to hospital, where he was treated for the cut.

Both players are believed to be doing well.

Ambulance Victoria declined to comment, citing patient confidentiality.
