Only two games got the full allotment of overs in round two of Premier Cricket action on Saturday, with three of the one-day games abandoned because of the rain and three decided by the Duckworth-Lewis system.

Subiaco-Floreat cruised to victory over South Perth in their rain-shortened match, chasing 200 off 46 overs after South Perth posted 204, led by 54 from Alex Wenban.

Openers Bailey Gregson (56) and State-contracted youngster Will Malajczuk (62) got them off to the best possible start at more than a run a ball before Guy Taylor (32n.o.) and Geremy Fatouros (38n.o.) guided the Lions home.

In another rain-shortened match, Bayswater-Morley posted an imposing 9-204 off 23 overs, led by captain Lane Berry who smashed 81 off 36 balls. In reply, Scarborough could struggle to only 9-136 off their 23 overs, opener Jake Collingwood top-scoring with 47.

Reigning champions University beat Midland-Guildford by 27 runs after they were bowled out for 182, captain Will Bosisto top-scoring with 57. Set a revised target of 177 off 46 overs, Midland-Guildford lost regular wickets to be all out for 150.

Joondalup cruised to victory over Rockingham Mandurah in one of the two games to play out fully, the Mariners reaching 9-209 in their 50 overs, with State rookie Corey Wasley scoring 41. Joondalup reached the target in the 40th over, Jake Gerrans scoring 79n.o. and Kai Orr 64.

Willetton’s horror start to the season continued, crushed by 121 runs by Gosnells.

And it was a former Willetton Dragon in Brock Larance who did the most damage, scoring 112 off just 97 balls as opener to help guide Gosnells to 231 all out, Luke McNamee providing support with 46.

In reply, Willetton were skittled for just 110 in the 29th over, captain Iszak Milentis top-scoring with 33, Larance adding a wicket to his all-round performance.

The game between Fremantle and Claremont-Nedlands was abandoned after Fremantle hit 7-238 off their 50 overs and the Tigers were 0-33 in reply after six overs.

Perth were 3-128 when their game against Melville was called off, while Mt Lawley versus Wanneroo was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
