Benchmark stock market indices opened Tuesday’s trading session on a positive note after falling sharply in the previous session, with the Sensex rising over 250 points and the Nifty moving above the 22,440 mark in early trade.
At 9:22 am, the BSE Sensex was trading at 72,181.44, up 256.76 points or 0.36%. The NSE Nifty 50 stood at 22,440.50, gaining 77.15 points or 0.34%.

The early recovery comes as investors assess global cues and developments in crude oil prices amid continuing geopolitical uncertainty. However, with trading still in its opening minutes, it remains to be seen whether the gains will hold through the session.
Crude oil prices remain a key factor for the domestic market. As a major oil importer, India faces the risk of a higher import bill, pressure on the rupee and renewed inflationary pressures if energy prices remain elevated. These factors could weigh on corporate margins and complicate the outlook for interest rates.
Investors will also track foreign institutional investor (FII) activity and domestic institutional flows for signs of whether buying interest can sustain the recovery. Global market movements and developments in the Middle East are likely to influence sentiment through the day.
Tuesday’s opening gains offer some relief after the previous session’s decline, but the market’s direction will depend on whether buying gathers pace or investors turn cautious again amid persistent global risks.
