Toyota Kirloskar Motor is set to launch the facelifted Glanza on October 14, 2026. The updated premium hatchback is expected to receive revised exterior styling, additional comfort and safety features, and a new, more fuel-efficient petrol engine. Ahead of its launch, Toyota has released the first teaser, offering a glimpse of the changes planned for the hatchback.

The facelift will arrive as the Glanza continues to compete in India’s premium hatchback segment, where it rivals the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. The updated model is expected to build on the existing car’s practicality while introducing styling and mechanical revisions.

Toyota Glanza facelift: Exterior design changes

The teaser previews a revised front fascia, with a larger grille featuring honeycomb detailing and chrome accents. Toyota’s emblem has been repositioned onto the body-coloured strip above the grille, while a broad chrome garnish runs across the front, visually connecting the headlamp areas.

The front fog lamps have also been redesigned, giving the hatchback a refreshed appearance. The headlamps and LED daytime running lamps are expected to retain their existing design, while changes at the rear are likely to be limited. Revised 16-inch alloy wheels could be another addition to the facelift.

Toyota Glanza facelift: Expected features

The updated Glanza is expected to retain the current model’s overall dashboard layout, with potential additions to its comfort and convenience equipment.

Expected upgrades include ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger with integrated cooling provisions and an upgraded Clarion audio system. Toyota could also introduce an advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) package, which would mark a significant addition to the hatchback’s safety technology.

However, these features remain unconfirmed, and the final equipment list could vary across variants. Toyota is expected to reveal the complete specifications and feature distribution at the launch.

Toyota Glanza facelift: Engine and transmission

One of the most significant anticipated changes is the introduction of Maruti Suzuki’s Z12E 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, replacing the existing K12N 1.2-litre, four-cylinder unit.

In the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Z12E engine produces 83bhp and 112Nm of torque. This is slightly lower than the current Glanza’s claimed output of 90bhp and 113Nm. However, the newer engine is expected to offer improved fuel efficiency.

A factory-fitted CNG option is also likely to continue. In the Baleno, the CNG powertrain produces 70bhp and 102Nm of torque. The updated Glanza is expected to retain a five-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol version could continue to offer an AMT option. The CNG version is likely to remain paired with a manual transmission, although an AMT-equipped CNG variant remains a possibility.

The final engine specifications, transmission combinations and fuel-efficiency figures will be confirmed at launch.

Toyota Glanza facelift: Expected price

The current Toyota Glanza is priced between Rs 6.73 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift could command a revised price, depending on the extent of the equipment and mechanical updates.

The updated hatchback will continue to take on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. The Baleno, which shares its underlying platform and much of its mechanical package with the Glanza, is expected to remain its closest rival.

Toyota Glanza facelift: Launch date and rivals

Toyota will officially unveil the updated Glanza’s specifications, variant line-up and pricing on October 14, 2026. The facelift is expected to bring a refreshed design and a more efficient powertrain, with potential feature additions further strengthening its appeal in the premium hatchback segment.

With the launch scheduled for tomorrow, details regarding the final equipment list, engine options, fuel efficiency and prices should become clearer shortly.
