Cody Rhodes has insisted he “never” had an issue with Travis Scott in WWE.
The 41-year-old star, who is appearing as Guile in the new live action Street Fighter movie, crossed paths with the rapper during a storyline in 2025 and Travis accidentally left him with a black eye after an in-ring scrap involving Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and John Cena at Elimination Chamber that year.
Appearing on Complex, Cody was asked if he owned and wore Travis’ shoes, and whether he could return to WWE in the future.
He said: “Brandi [his wife] did wear those, and I don’t think she gave a damn that he’s put the big old slap [on me].
“I don’t even know what we’d call his hand. It was like a frying pan,. And no, there was never any heat.
“We love Travis Scott. I’d like to see Travis Scott back doing something with WWE. He’s wonderful.”
Cody also heaped praise on the way the hip hop conducted himself during the Elimination Chamber
beatdown.
He recalled: “So, I was laying there getting my a** kicked, but my watch came off. I think John [Cena] put it on his hand and he punched me with it, and that was a whole thing.
“But I then went to the training room. They’re stitching me up. They’re doing all this stuff. He is the one who got the watch.
“Travis is the one who got the watch, put it in his pocket, and made sure it got back to me. That’s man stuff. That’s pro. So, I always appreciated that greatly.”
Travis ended up getting involved in Cody’s match with Cena at WrestleMania 41, helping the latter win his record 17th world championship.
However, he has not been featured on WWE programming since then.
During an appearance on Cody’s What Do You Want To Talk About? podcast last year, Cena insisted changing plans never fazed the two stars still involved.
He said: “‘Hey, you have The Rock and Travis Scott.’ Awesome, we can plan all this stuff. ‘Hey, you don’t have those two guys anymore.’
“Not once did you and I — the whole world has had the conversation of, ‘What would it have been like if?’ — the two guys in it, with their d*** in the dirt, not once had a conversation about, ‘Man, what would it have been like if we had those guys.’
“No. It was, ‘What do we do now?’”
