A teenager is fighting for his life after two men were found with possible gunshot wounds at a home in Melbourne’s northern suburbs on Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to a house on Kaniva Street, Dallas, about 8.20am after receiving reports the two men, who are understood to have known each other, were suffering from serious injuries, possibly inflicted by a gun.
A blood-spattered sedan could be seen at the scene on Sunday. Police said they did not believe anyone else was involved.
A 19-year-old Craigieburn man is in critical condition while a 22-year-old man from Dallas is stable.
The pair is being treated at the Royal Melbourne Hospital for upper body injuries, both men remain under police guard.
It comes after a man with organised crime links was executed inside his Wollert home, just a short drive from Dallas, last Thursday.
Last week, innocent bystanders ran for their lives as the possible gunman was caught on CCTV fleeing the scene about 5.30pm Thursday on Gypsum Drive.
Homicide squad Detective Acting Inspector Paul Scarlett said that victim, 42, was located inside a house with multiple gunshot wounds. “We do believe that this person has got links to organised crime,” he said.
Scarlett said the victim’s family was away when the shooting occurred, but returned home shortly afterwards to find their loved one dead.
It is unknown if Thursday’s shooting is linked to Sunday morning’s incident.
