On Monday, October 19, Cockroach Janta Party ( CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke compared the Allahabad High Court’s extension of Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das ‘ judicial custody, which has been extended by two days, to the continued detention of the outfit’s co-convenors.
Dipke shared screenshots of two X-linked news reports with headlines like” Allahbad High Court suspends conviction of murderer who wishes to contest election on BJP ticket” and” Extinder of Ranka and Das’s judicial custody.”
After he indicated his desire to run in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in an independent member or, if possible, on a BJP seat, the Allahabad High Court granted a stay of Nandlal Rai’s faith and life sentence. He was convicted last year of a murder charge in 2017.
The prosecutor argued that a typical man’s right to a living wage is no less significant than a politician’s right to challenge elections, and that the conviction and sentence should be postponed so that he can live until the verdict in his appeal is reached. His judgment is pending, and an appeal is pending.
In a separate article, Dipke outlined the compromises made by Ranka and Das, claiming that they had given up their successful careers and financial security in an effort to improve the nation.
” Ashu worked for a high-paying corporate job in London for a while, making millions.” Saurav was discussing the legal structure in his home country. Both men had prosperous careers, economic stability, and every reason to live the lives they had built themselves,” he claimed.
” But they made the decision to give it all up in the hopes of improving the world. They left their comfortable lives for the unknown, took to the streets, faced confusion, and ultimately found themselves imprisoned. He claimed that they did.
Dipke said that despite having wealthy origins, they chose to fight for those who are less lucky. This is what he admires most about the two.
They always cared about the difficulties of people they had never even met, instead choosing to look the other way, enjoy their lives, and always gave a damn. No one gave them the command to sacrifice these things. Nothing had anticipated that. They did, he said, because they care about people beyond themselves.
The best features a human being you have are standing up for those who are not familiar, fighting conflicts that are not their own, and risking all to improve someone else’s lifestyle, according to Dipke.
He continued,” Those are the people Ashu and Saurav are.”
Ratna Singh, the constitutional representative of the CJP, also reacted to the improvements. She wrote in a blog on X that she thought” I haven’t seen anything this immoral in my entire life.”
Afterwards, Singh addressed reporters and demanded that the specific professional magistrate’s court be abolished, alleging that Ranka and Das are being held in secret because the law is being abused.
She questioned the dismissal of the guarantee for Ranka and Das, saying,” The SEM judge should be abolished because it is compromised.”
Singh claimed that there was no evidence of a protest or peaceful protest when the two CJP leaders ‘ attorneys argued on legitimate grounds. ” Nothing on our end has called ( for a protest ).” They were still in two weeks ‘ administrative prison, though. They ( authorities ) don’t want to violate anyone’s liberty, she said.
She claimed that the magistrate was speaking to the court while the standard was there. She demanded an investigation into how the authorities operate, citing the major concerns the cases raise with specific liberty.
She continued,” I just feel like this entire system is there to crush us,” but she said,” I don’t believe it will succeed.”
” This country’s youth are watching,” the statement reads. They are observing how energy is being used. She claimed that they ( authorities ) are using the law to “cease voices,” adding that the government would eventually have to respond.
According to an official, Ranka and Das were taken into custody at the Mandir Marg police station on Monday ( October 19 ) and later placed in judicial custody for two more days after being presented to a newly appointed special executive magistrate.
After reportedly climbing over a locked gate to provide Jantar Mantar, which had been de-notified as a designated protest page, the two were first taken into administrative prison for five times on October 13. Before being taken into custody, they raised slogans against Chief Election Commissioner ( CEC ) Gyanesh Kumar along with other CJP activists and displayed the national flag.
The CJP alleges that the two co-convenors ‘ discharge was purposefully delayed as a result of the loan process being postponed. On what it called ambiguous basis, it has also questioned the refusal of their loan guarantees.
The particular executive magistrate who was hearing their bail case on Sunday made the claim that unnamed people were threatening him, and police issued a report that was difficult to identify.
According to sources, Ranka and Das will appear before the special administrative judge once more on Wednesday.
