A wild police chase has come to a dramatic end, with a driver accused of ramming four police cars and leading officers on multiple pursuits through Western Australia’s southwest.

The incident unfolded when a blue Toyota LandCruiser was allegedly stolen from a house on Kaloorup Rd at Vasse, about 230km southwest of Perth, at 1am on October 15.

The car was tracked to a home on Jacksonia St at Glen Iris, near Bunbury, about 3pm that day.

Police went to the home and allege the accused, 42, “deliberately drove” the LandCruiser through a fence and into police car before fleeing.

Officers began pursuing the LandCruiser and allege the driver failed to stop, drove recklessly and sped through a school zone.

The pursuit was called off after the accused drove onto a sandy track, but the man was spotted the next evening allegedly driving the stolen 4WD on Wellesley Rd North at Wellesley.

Officers tried to stop the LandCruiser, but the driver allegedly sped away, resulting in a second pursuit.

Police say this time the driver deliberately drove into three police cars with officers inside while he tried to getaway.

Police allege two other officers were forced to take cover behind a large tree when the driver allegedly drove towards them as they deployed a tyre-deflation device.

“No injuries were sustained,” a police spokesman said.

A police helicopter and officers monitored the vehicle, which was eventually stopped on Mungalup Rd at Collie.

Police allege two other police vehicles were damaged when officers tried to stop the LandCruiser.

A Carey Park man was arrested and charged with three counts of intent to prevent arrest of a person, four counts of criminal damage, two counts of failing to stop, three counts of failing to comply with a direction to stop and two counts of endangering life.

He was also charged with six other offences related to no authority to drive, reckless driving and stealing a motor vehicle.

Police also charged him with burglary offences related to other alleged incidents in the days prior at Davenport, Boyanup, Carey Park and Bunbury.

He is due to face Perth Magistrates Court on November 2.
