Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 continued its impressive box office run on Sunday, October 25, as the action thriller recorded a rise in domestic collections on its second Sunday and crossed Rs 710 crore in worldwide gross revenue. The film earned Rs 25.70 crore nett (gross minus taxes) in India on Day 11, marking a 6.4 per cent increase over Saturday’s collection of Rs 24.15 crore, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. Its worldwide gross now stands at Rs 710.35 crore, taking the sequel past another major milestone.

The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has accumulated Rs 398.70 crore in India nett collections, while its domestic gross stands at Rs 466.85 crore. Overseas markets have contributed Rs 243.50 crore to the film’s worldwide total, including an estimated Rs 10 crore on Sunday. With its second weekend now behind it, the film is approaching the Rs 400-crore mark in India nett collections.

Jailer 2 collects Rs 64 crore in second weekend

Jailer 2 maintained its upward trajectory through the second weekend after collecting Rs 334.35 crore nett in India during its opening week. The film earned Rs 14.50 crore on Friday, October 23, from 10,484 shows, with an occupancy rate of 26.7 per cent. Collections climbed to Rs 24.15 crore on Saturday, October 24, as occupancy improved to 35.8 per cent.

The film continued to gain on Sunday, collecting Rs 25.70 crore across 11,954 shows, with reported occupancy reaching 38 per cent. The three-day second-weekend total stands at Rs 64.35 crore net in India.

Although Sunday’s collection was significantly higher than Friday’s, the film remains below its opening-day India net collection of Rs 59.70 crore.

Tamil version leads Jailer 2’s Day 11 collections

The Tamil version continued to dominate the film’s domestic performance on Sunday, contributing Rs 17.35 crore nett from 5,683 shows. It accounted for 67.5 per cent of the day’s India nett collection, with reported occupancy at 50.1 per cent.

The Telugu version collected Rs 4.50 crore from 1,860 shows, recording 40.4 per cent occupancy. The Hindi version added Rs 3.15 crore from 4,195 shows, with occupancy at 20 per cent. Meanwhile, the Kannada version contributed Rs 70 lakh from 216 shows, registering 48 per cent occupancy.

The film recorded 1,749,982 footfalls on Sunday, taking its cumulative reported attendance to 26,425,010.

Tamil Nadu leads state-wise collections

Tamil Nadu remained the biggest contributor to Jailer 2’s state-wise gross collections on Sunday, generating Rs 12.75 crore, or 42.4 per cent of the reported total. Karnataka ranked second with Rs 5.50 crore, accounting for 18.3 per cent.

The Andhra Pradesh-Telangana region contributed Rs 4.75 crore, while Kerala added Rs 3.30 crore. The rest of India accounted for another Rs 3.75 crore, taking the reported state-wise gross total to Rs 30.05 crore.

The figures underline the film’s continued strength in its core southern markets, particularly Tamil Nadu, even as its Hindi version continues to contribute to the domestic tally.

What is Jailer 2 about?

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 follows retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, played by Rajinikanth. When a fresh threat from the criminal underworld disrupts his peaceful life, he returns to his ruthless ways to protect his family and confront his enemies.

The sequel builds on the world established by the first Jailer, bringing Rajinikanth back as the formidable Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. With its worldwide gross now at Rs 710.35 crore and its India net total nearing Rs 400 crore, the film’s next box office test will be whether it can sustain its collections through the weekday.
