Australia lose 3-10 and the game twists again.

Cummins is gone lbw to Rabada after jumping across the crease, the Proteas spearhead’s first wicket of the innings.

A first-innings lead of 50-odd is useful but not defining.

The tourists will be desperate for another 50-100 runs here.

It came down to an umpire’s call but Pat Cummins is out lbw for a duck and now South Africa will feel they are back in this match.

Great bowling from Rabada.

Australia has a 51-run lead but they’ve lost 3-41 this morning.

AUS 7-380

Alex Carey has hung around for so long but Harmer tempted him to come forward to a spinning ball and he edged it to Markram at slip.

Carey is gone for 80. He isn’t happy.

But Nathan Lyon will be checking out this pitch with interest.

Josh Inglis absolutely laced a reverse sweep off Simon Harmer to bring up a terrific hundred off just 132 balls, his second century in six Tests after making one on debut in Galle against Sri Lanka last year.

Given it has been well over three years since Marnus Labuschagne made a century, it would be very difficult to see Inglis losing his place for the home Tests against New Zealand.

Steve Smith, whenever he is ready to return, may need to move up to three.

No sooner had Josh Inglis raised his bat than he is walking to back to the rooms.

Simon Harmer ripped an off-spinner off a crack and it hit Inglis’ outside edge and was caught by the keeper.

Inglis isn’t happy with that. He wanted to keep on batting, but he’s played a huge role here.

Now it’s time for the lower order and tail to keep piling on the runs alongside Alex Carey.

AUS 5-370

Josh Inglis has his second Test match century after he reverse-swept Harmer for four to move to 101 runs.

The crowd was pretty quiet but you could hear him scream with delight when he saw the ball was going to the rope.

He pumped his fists with joy and held his bat and helmet aloft.

What a sensational innings from a player many doubted was ready to bat in the top order.

AUS 4-367 with a 38 run lead.

Simon Harmer doesn’t drop many chances, but he couldn’t grasp a dipping edge from Alex Carey after Kagiso Rabada’s last ball.

To make matters worse, the ball has drawn blood from his left hand.

He’s getting treatment between the overs, but thankfully it’s not to his bowling hand.

“Hopefully, it hasn’t done too much damage to his hand,” Simon Katich said on commentary.

Harmer is now bowling as well, but he’s still hurting.

AUS 4-362 with Inglis on 97, Carey on 69.

Could the moment be here for Inglis? He’s on 96 not out and on strike for the new over.

Australia continue to bat on this morning.

But Kagiso Rabada has come on for his first spell. This is a huge moment for both players and both sides.

AUS 4-358, lead by 29 runs.

Josh Inglis and Alex Carey have kept their powder dry this morning, picking off singles but otherwise keeping out of trouble and slowly getting their touch back.

Inglis has moved up to 93 not out. He isn’t rushing, despite his century being within reach.

AUS 4-347, leading by 18 runs.

Former South African captain Shaun Pollock has thrown the challenge down to the Proteas’ bowlers, stating they need to win the early stages today’s play to get themselves back into this match.

Pollock said the home side couldn’t let Australia’s batters keep going and build a match-winning lead.

“South Africa need to win this first 45 minutes; if Australia bats too well, then so be it,” Pollock said during the SuperSport broadcast.

He urged current skipper Temba Bavuma and the other leaders to keep pushing their side on this morning, and he wants Marco Jansen and the other bowlers to take control of the innings.

AUS 4-338 with Josh Inglis on 90 and Alex Carey on 54. Australia leads by nine runs.
