Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei on Saturday, October 31, warned the United States and Israel that any threat against Iran would be met with an immediate, impactful and geographically unrestricted response.

“Any level or type of threat must be met with an immediate, impactful, and geographically unrestricted response,” Khamenei said during a meeting with senior commanders of Iran’s Armed Forces.

The meeting marked the first publicly disclosed gathering between Khamenei and the country’s top military commanders since the war began.

Khamenei has not appeared publicly since being injured in a US-Israeli strike on February 28, the day the war began. He has communicated only through written statements, leaving his condition and whereabouts uncertain.

His warning comes amid fears of renewed fighting following the campaign that killed his father and several senior Iranian officials.

Iran calls for stronger military preparedness

During the meeting, Khamenei described combat readiness as essential to maintaining deterrence and preparing for a potential confrontation with adversaries.

He said that if Iran’s enemies resumed military or terrorist attacks, the country’s Armed Forces and people would determine when and under what conditions the hostilities would end.

He also called for a comprehensive update of Iran’s military target database to bring all physical and non-physical assets of what he described as the US-Zionist enemy within the Armed Forces’ reach.

Alongside military preparedness, he stressed the importance of strengthening the spiritual foundations and spirit of jihad among personnel and ensuring their livelihood needs were met.

Khamenei praises public support and military personnel

Khamenei described nationwide backing for the Armed Forces as a key element of Iran’s deterrence against foreign powers and their domestic supporters.

Referring to public gatherings across the country over the past eight months, he compared them to the eight-year Iran-Iraq War, known in Iran as the Sacred Defence. He credited the military, police and Basij forces with safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and the Islamic system.

He also asked senior commanders to convey his appreciation to military personnel, police, Basij members and Ministry of Defence staff, as well as their families.

Calls for unity among resistance groups

Khamenei praised what he described as the steadfastness of the Resistance Front in different countries, calling cooperation among its groups a decisive factor in shaping a new political and security order in West Asia.

He expressed hope that the emerging regional framework would encourage greater unity among Muslim nations and governments and contribute to what he called a New Islamic Civilisation.

Iranian military warns Trump against renewed attacks

Separately, Iranian military spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia warned US President Donald Trump against launching another military operation against Iran in coordination with Israel.

In a statement posted on X, Akraminia said Iran was closely monitoring US military movements across the region and cautioned that another joint offensive would trigger an immediate and unprecedented response from Tehran.

He warned that a renewed conflict could spread across a much wider region, adding that Washington would not be able to determine how or when the hostilities ended.

Questioning the reliability of US diplomatic commitments, Akraminia referred to what he described as Trump’s record of abandoning negotiations. He said Iran’s Armed Forces were strengthening their combat preparedness, upgrading missile capabilities and reinforcing strategic maritime positions.

His warning comes amid increased US military deployments in regional waters, with US Central Command (CENTCOM) moving additional naval assets to support Washington’s military posture in the region.
