Confronting CCTV from a Loganlea childcare centre has raised serious questions after a three-year-old boy was left unresponsive on the ground for more than a minute before he was physically checked on.

Queensland mother Rachael Pope is demanding answers over the October 6 incident at Little Creek Early Learning Centre, where her son Nikoah suffered what was believed to be his first seizure.

The time-stamped video shows Nikoah playing in the outdoor area before he suddenly drops to the ground and becomes motionless.

Two other children approach him moments later and try to lift him, but he remains limp.

An educator appears in view less than a minute after he collapses, but the footage shows her staying back for a short period before moving closer.

She physically checks him about 1 minute and 42 seconds after he first went down, then places him in the recovery position and calls for help.

“I’m very angry and distraught knowing that my son was lying there for nearly two and a half minutes before anybody did anything,” Ms Pope told the Courier Mail.

Ms Pope has alleged staff told her son was unresponsive for about five minutes.

She has also raised concerns that no ambulance had been called by the time she arrived at the centre about 15 minutes later.

She drove Nikoah to Logan Hospital, where he spent two nights undergoing monitoring and tests after the episode, which was the first of its kind he had experienced.

He has since continued to undergo assessment for suspected absent seizures.

Queensland’s Early Childhood Regulatory Authority has confirmed it has been notified and an investigation is under way.
