Dyson Daniels has played a key role as the Atlanta Hawks overcame a stiff challenge from the visiting Brooklyn Nets to claim a nail-biting 124-121 NBA win.

Playing at home for a second consecutive night, the Hawks rallied from a 17-point first-quarter deficit in Saturday night’s game before securing a fourth straight win.

Australian starter Daniels led the Hawks in rebounds (10), assists (seven) and steals (six) while also contributing nine points in his 31 minutes on court.

Jalen Johnson led Atlanta with 30 points in his return after missing three games with an ankle sprain while point guard Alexander-Walker and bench player Aaron Wiggins each added 20.

Atlanta outscored Brooklyn 36-26 in the final period with Wiggins scoring 12 to clinch the victory and improve to 7-4 for the season.

The Nets took an early 31-14 lead but led only 70-66 at halftime and saw their advantage trimmed to one point four times in the fourth quarter before the Hawks finally completed their comeback.

Michael Porter Jr. led Brooklyn with 25 points, Nolan Traore added a season-high 19 and Julius Randle also had 19.

In Cleveland, Australian guard Tyrese Proctor got 23 minutes off the bench for hosts Cavaliers as they were beaten 109-97 by defending champions New York Knicks in a rematch of last season’s eastern conference finalists.

Jalen Brunson scored 31 points and Karl-Anthony Towns added 29 as the Knicks made big plays when they needed them.

Donovan Mitchell scored 21 of his season-high 37 points in the fourth quarter for the Cavaliers.

Proctor had seven points, three rebounds and three assists as his team slipped to a 5-5 season start while the Knicks improved to 5-4.

Stephen Curry showed he’s as good as ever at age 38 as he posted 41 points and lifted Golden State to a 126-119 overtime victory over Orlando – their seventh straight win.

Curry converted a three-point play with 1:38 left in overtime that put hosts Golden State ahead then scored a layup in the final minute.

It was his 16th 40-point effort after age 35, the most in NBA history. LeBron James has 15 and Michael Jordan did it 12 times.

Elsewhere, Denver beat Indiana 114-102 in Mexico City, Phoenix downed Houston 102-99 and Oklahoma City clobbered Washington 114-75.
