Doval praised Tejran’s role in the region and stressed New Delhi’s interest in further expanding bilateral cooperation

National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Sunday held a telephone conversation with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and representative of the Supreme Leader, to discuss strategic cooperation between the two countries.
According to a statement posted by the official account of the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi on X, the call focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing key infrastructure projects.

During the conversation, Doval praised Tejran’s role in the region and stressed New Delhi’s interest in further expanding bilateral cooperation, especially in the development of Chabahar Port, located in southeastern Iran, and the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC).

“During the call, Mr. Doval emphasized Iran’s constructive role in the region and expressed India’s interest in expanding bilateral cooperation—particularly in the development of Chabahar Port and the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC). He also thanked Iran for its continued assistance and support,” the embassy shared.
Ahmadian, in turn, underlined the historic and civilisational ties between India and Iran, describing them as two ancient nations with “deep-rooted ties and vast potential for political and economic collaboration.”
“He stressed the need to swiftly implement strategic projects and reiterated that bilateral cooperation serves the broader interests of regional peace and stability,” the Iranian Embassy added.
