A 24-year-old techie died by suicide after setting herself ablaze in a hotel room based in Karnataka’s Bengaluru, NDTV reported.

As per the report, the deceased took the extreme step as her uncle and aunt were reportedly blackmailing her with her private photos and videos. The incident occurred at Radha Hometel, near Kundalahalli metro station on Sunday evening.

On the day of the incident, her uncle was allegedly forcing her to meet him at the hotel premises, says the report.

The deceased also carried some petrol, which she poured on herself and set herself ablaze, reported the outlet, citing police.

She was later rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to the injuries.

A case has been registered against her uncle and aunt under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). A pen drive has also been recovered from the accused’s possession, said the police.
