The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the states of Punjab and Rajasthan witnessed ceasefire violations by the Pakistani Army which shelled, exchanged gunfire and sent drones hours after a truce was agreed upon after the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of both nations agreed to a ceasefire.
The night sky across Kashmir Valley and border districts of Jammu and Kashmir lit up as air defences neutralised Pakistani drones. Blasts were heard in Srinagar and drones were also spotted across border areas of Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

India and Pakistan on Saturday reached an agreement to stop all firings and military actions on land, air and sea, with immediate effect after four days of intense cross-border drone and missile strikes that brought the two countries teetering on the edge of full scale war.
Barely hours after this development first announced by US President Donald Trump who claimed that the two countries have agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire after US mediation, the border states and Union Territories were shaken by the drone sightings.
Officials clearly said that the bilateral understanding was the result of a direct engagement between the Indian and Pakistani sides and that Islamabad agreed to it with “no pre conditions, no post conditions and no links to other issues.” India late in the night accused Pakistan of breaching the understanding.
At a media briefing shortly after the ceasefire violation, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri called upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with “seriousness and responsibility”.
“For the last few hours, there have been repeated violations of the understanding arrived at earlier this evening between the Directors General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan,” he said.
