The Congress on Friday, i.e., January 10, took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his first-ever podcast appearance with Zerodha co-counder Nikhil Kamath on the “People by WTF” channel.

In the podcast, the Prime Minister shed light on a previous speech from his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister. He remarked, “When I became the CM, in one of me speeches, I had said that I will leave no stone unturned in my efforts. Secondly, I will not do anything for myself. Third, I am a human, I may make mistakes, but I will not make mistakes with bad intentions. I made them my life’s mantras.”

PM Modi further emphasised that he had said something in an insensitive manner. “Mistakes happen. I am human, not a God”, he added.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that the “PM affirming that he is not a god is clearly a damage control after he proclaimed his non-biological status just eight months back”.

In a post on ‘X’, Ramesh wrote, “This from a man who proclaimed his non-biological status just eight months back. This is clearly damage control”.

During the Lok Sabha polls campaign, PM Modi said in an interview that he felt that he was not biological but sent by God. His remarks were targeted by the Congress and other opposition parties, after they started referring to him as “divine” and “non-biological PM”.
