In a fresh attack against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that the Delhi government is counting on support from “anti-national” forces in a bid to secure victory in the upcoming Delhi assembly polls.
BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi stated that an investigation being made into the fake votes in the national capital has revealed that the votes of Bangladeshi infiltrators are being added using fake Aadhar cards.
He further alleged the involvement of two AAP MLAs – Mohinder Goyal and Jai Bhagwan Upkar – in the fake Aadhar card documents case.
Notably, this follows a notice sent by the Delhi police to Goyal and his office staff, asking them to join the probe into the matter, in which some Bangladeshis were held and fake Aadhaar cards were recovered, news agency ANI has reported citing Delhi police sources.
“After the scandals involving alcohol and health fraud, a new and dangerous tendency of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is emerging. Investigation into fake votes in Delhi has revealed that votes of Bangladeshi infiltrators are being made by making fake Aadhar cards and signatures of two AAP MLAs–Mohinder Goyal and Jai Bhagwan Upkar have been found in this conspiracy… AAP is taking support from anti-national forces…What is the secret of Arvind Kejriwal’s love for anti-national forces?” Trivedi claimed.
The Delhi assembly polls are scheduled be held in one phase on February 5, with the vote counting dated February 8.
The national capital is set to witness a triangular contest among AAP, BJP and the Congress party. As the ruling AAP eyes on a third term despite an anti-incumbency, the Congress attempts to regain its lost status; while the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to secure triumph in the assembly elections, having won all seven seats in the Lok Sabha 2024.
