As Delhi assembly polls are approaching, the political heat is touching new heights. Although there is a triangular contest, the real fight is being witnessed between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

On one hand, the BJP targeted the AAP over Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks on ‘Purvanchalis’ (people from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar) by holding a ‘Purvanchali Samman March’ in the national capital; on the other hand, the former Delhi CM also sharpened his attack on the saffron party.

At a time when the elections are around the corner, the national capital is echoing with the name of ‘Purvanchalis’. Be it the ruling party or the opposition, the attacks are constantly being made through posters.

Recently, the AAP attacked the BJP by posting an AI-generated clip on the lines of popular SquidGames.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari, who led the ‘Purvanchali Samman March’, attacked Arvind Kejriwal and said, “Kejriwal ji, stop insulting the people of UP-Bihar, Jharkhand again and again. You have questioned their hard work and respect by calling them ‘fake voters’! Remember, these are the same people of Purvanchal who will reply to your insult on 5 February”.

The AAP supremo also addressed the media and trained guns at the BJP, saying, “AAP government worked for the benefit of Purvanchal society: I did a lot of work for the development of the brothers and sisters of Purvanchal society and the slum colonies; Laid water and sewer lines in slums, built schools and hospitals; BJP people engages in dharna and dirty politics without any issues”.

Pertinent to note that the Purvanchalis make up for 42% of the total voters in Delhi and affect over half of the 70 seats in the assembly.
