A boat has struck reef near Alkimos Beach and is reportedly taking on water.
The boat is between neighbouring northern suburbs Jindalee and Butler.
Emergency authorities put out a “pan-pan” call for the boat just before 4.30pm on Thursday.
A pan-pan call is used when there is an urgent need for help but no immediate threat to life.
The people on board can see the shoreline.
