Counterfeiters create highly sophisticated fake notes, making them hard to distinguish. Differences in texture, faded printing, and currency-identifying apps can help detect counterfeit notes
Identifying counterfeit currency was once simpler. Beyond verifying Mahatma Gandhi’s image, the paper quality itself was a giveaway. However, counterfeiters have honed their skills, producing increasingly convincing notes that can fool even the most discerning eye. This sophistication has led to a surge in the circulation of fake currency, a problem currently plaguing Bihar.
The Bihar Police Headquarters has issued an alert regarding counterfeit currency circulation throughout the district and launched an awareness campaign to combat the issue. The campaign aims to educate the public on methods to identify fake notes. The Police Headquarters has issued a letter to all District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police, outlining strategies to raise awareness about counterfeit currency detection.
