Ex-DGP found dead: Former Director General of Police (DGP) of Karnataka, Om Prakash, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Bengaluru’s HSR layout area on Sunday.
The body, which had stab wounds, was found lying in a pool of blood on the ground floor of his three-storied house in the upscale HSR Layout.

The police said they were informed about the body by Prakash’s wife, Pallavi. As per the preliminary investigation, Prakash is suspected to have been murdered by his wife.
Police have begun questioning Prakash’s spouse and daughter regarding the incident.
According to news agency PTI, the retired DGP had previously expressed concerns about threats to his life to some close associates.
The HSR Layout police reached the spot upon receiving the information. The body has been sent to St John’s Medical College Hospital for post-mortem, and further investigation is underway.
The tragic death of the former DGP has sent a wave of grief in the police department and his acquaintances.
The 68-year-old 1981 batch IPS officer, served as state DGP from 2015-17. He was a native of Champaran in Bihar and held an MSc in Geology. He also headed Fire and Emergency Services, and Home Guards.
BJP Slams Law And Order
Reacting to the incident, BJP leader Amit Malviya slammed the law and order situation in the state saying, “Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash murdered in Bengaluru. Imagine the extent of lawlessness under the Congress,” in a post on X.
