There are not too many homes that sit on the rolling banks of the Mosman Park foreshore without so much as a footpath to spoil the view.

But a newly-listed property, belonging to property magnate Chiu Chi Wen and his philanthropist wife Wai Mei Chee, offers up such a wonderland.

Grassy banks stretch from the home’s front garden down to the river, overlooking Blackwall Reach, Mosman Bay and Freshwater Bay, with the city a sparkling backdrop.

Towering eucalypts provide a shady spot to sit and watch the boats bobbing along the Swan.

Mr Wen, who has assets worth $436 million through his property firm Hawaiian — give or take a few million — has enjoyed the vista since buying the property for $15m in 2018.

But he listed this week through Mack Hall and Jim Hall, seeking offers from $20m.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom house includes a study and a temperature-controlled wine cellar.

The 1070sqm block has previously been home to some of Perth’s most controversial businessmen, Laurie Connell in the 1980s and Dallas Dempster in the ‘90s.

But the Wens could not be further removed from the stench of WA Inc, with the family matriarch overseeing Wen Giving, which supports conservation, health, community and education projects in Australia and across the world.

Mr Wen also heads up Malaysian company Selangor Properties, which was founded by his parents.

House That! was unable to contact the Wens.

Hawaiian recently acquired 50 per cent of Claremont Quarter from Queensland’s QIC for more than $200m, giving it full ownership. It also owns several other shopping centres.
