Monsoon season arrives as a blessing after the heat of summer, but also increases the risk of developing infections such as flu, cough, cold, stomach problems, and mosquito-borne diseases. Building immunity is a must for everyone, particularly expectant mothers and children, who are prone to being more susceptible to illnesses.

Dietary measures
● A well-balanced diet is a must. Fresh fruits such as oranges, guavas, and vegetables such as spinach, carrot, and bottle gourd in the season keep the body adequately equipped with all the essential vitamins and minerals.
● Healthy home cooking, soups, and proper fluids keep the body well-fed and hydrated.
● Turmeric, ginger, or tulsi herbal teas are proven to provide natural shelter and comfort on rainy days.
● As added support, safe supplements like vitamin D, vitamin C, or iron, especially for women and children, are also beneficial, but only if the doctor recommends so.
Maintaining Hygiene
● Using mild detergent to wash clothes and dry clothes in direct sunlight, and the use of clean towels can prevent infection.
● Drink boiled water, and avoid staying in wet clothes as it can attract mosquitoes.
● Use of natural repellents, mosquito nets, and safety gear can help prevent dengue and malaria.
Resting Well
● Proper sleep allows the body to recover, thus increasing overall immunity to diseases.
Maintaining Stress levels.
● Reading books, spending quiet time, listening to music, or doing breathing exercises can be beneficial in maintaining emotional health and in stress reduction. This also helps in increasing immunity.
● Light exercise, gentle yoga, or stretching improves circulation, relieves stress, and develops the immune system.
