A pair of rottweilers have left a Landsdale mother seriously injured — the second attack in just weeks after biting a man in a nearby park.
Tasmin Young was mauled by the dogs on Tuesday evening and ended up at the emergency department after she was told she might need plastic surgery to repair the wound.
Only the owner of the dogs was around at the time of the attack to help pull the dogs off Ms Young.
“I was really fortunate in that they didn’t manage to really grab me, that she must have been able to pull and get them off me and just move on, because she pulled them away and I could move in the opposite direction,” she said.
“The doctor said it might need a plastic surgeon, because there is this puncture wound, and the wound itself was reasonably big. And so he sent me to the emergency hospital.”
The attack came just weeks after the same rottweilers left bite marks on a man’s hand at Huntington Park, just streets away from where Ms Young was attacked.
Both victims are awaiting answers as to who the owner of the dogs are with the City of Wanneroo gathering evidence as part of their investigation into the rottweilers.
Ms Young said she was worried about the dogs attacking again.
“If it’s happened once, it can happen again,” she said.
“If you don’t have the facilities to be able to accommodate them in an environment that is suitable for them and their size, then you shouldn’t own them.”
