The Cats have made a big late change

In news that will surprise few, Geelong has made a late change before tonight’s game. The good news for Cats fans is that it is NOT Tom Stewart who is out. The bad news is that it’s Mark Blicavs. Rhys Stanley comes in to replace Blicavs.
The Demons go in as named. They’ve made four changes, including the introduction of Kozzy Pickett for his first game of the season.
Mark O’Connor is Geelong’s sub, and Charlie Spargo is Melbourne’s.
Collingwood’s Dan Houston has been suspended for two games

About what we expected for Houston’s bump on Lachie Fogarty last night. The Collingwood recruit is awfully lucky that Fogarty avoided a serious injury or a concussion, or this one could have been a lot worse for all involved.

The incident was graded careless conduct, high impact and high contact.

Friday night footy at the Cattery

Good evening footy fans, and welcome to Friday night footy live from Kardinia Park. Geelong is hosting Melbourne tonight, a game that both sides badly need to win after a few rough weeks.
The Cats are coming off back to back defeats to St Kilda and Brisbane, while Melbourne is yet to pick up a point this season following defeats to GWS, North Melbourne and Gold Coast.
A bit like last night, feels like the story will be the loser here either way. It’s a tough ask for the Demons on the road, but there is little margin for error for either side. Should make for a good one for us! Settle in and let the blog keep you company.
