Live: Roosters and Dragons face-off to begin Anzac Day triple-header

Both teams have hit the turf in front of the sold out crowd and the Last Post has just wrapped up, being played by Petty Officer Andrew Hanisch.

The bumper crowd is silent for a moment, then erupts in applause before the national anthems of Australia and New Zealand as the game looms.

Time creeps up on you, doesn’t it? Hard to believe this game was a full decade ago now. It’s the only time I’ve ever seen an NRL game get temporarily suspended due to the whether. Good win from Saints as well.

No changes from the Roosters side named on Tuesday but one switch for the Dragons with Dylan Egan starting at second row and Luciano Leilua dropping back to the bench.

Hello everyone and welcome to one of the biggest days of the NRL season.

Anzac Day is a reminder there’s far more important things than football but there’s three games being played today with plenty of commemoration for those who shall not grow old.

First up we have the Roosters-Dragons game at the SFS, then it’s over to Christchurch for Warriors-Knights then we’re off to Melbourne for Storm-Rabbitohs.
