A northern suburbs man is being treated in hospital for a gunshot wound after allegedly pointing what appeared to be a handgun at police.
Police officers were responding to a disturbance at a home on Drysdale Road in Craigie when they were confronted by the 54-year-old at about 8.10pm.
After the man allegedly failed to comply with requests to put down the suspected weapon, one police firearm was discharged.
The man received a gunshot wound to one of his hands and was taken into custody.
