In a shocking turn of events, hitmen hired to kill someone ended up murdering the wrong person in Lucknow. On December 30, taxi driver Mohammad Rizwan was shot dead in the Madehganj area. The police have arrested three individuals, including a lawyer, in connection with the murder.
Lawyer Aaftab Ahmed, the prime accused, allegedly hired hitmen to eliminate the father and husband of the woman he was in a relationship with. However, in a mix-up, the hired killers shot Mohammad Rizwan instead of the intended target.

“Aaftab Ahmed is the main accused. He wanted to kill the husband and father of the woman he was in a relationship with. The accused reached Madehganj on December 30 to carry out the murder but ended up killing the wrong person. The weapon, bike used in the crime, and the phones of the accused have been seized,” said DCP (Central) Raveena Tyagi.
Police investigations revealed that Aaftab had contacted Yasir to execute the plan, who in turn robed in Krishnakant into the conspiracy. After the duo shot the wrong person, tensions arose between them and Aaftab.
Aaftab, who initally paid Rs 2 lakh for the crime, refused to pay the remaining amount, citing their failure to kill the intended target, leading to a heated dispute.
During the investigation, police recovered an illegal firearm, 14 live cartridges, a motorcycle used in the crime, and three mobile phones from the accused.
