A kitten was run over and killed after it was dumped with four of its siblings alongside Dixon Road in Rockingham last week.
According to Mandurah Detectives, a pet carrier containing five black six-week-old kittens was dumped in bushland near the busy road about 6pm on April 24.
One of the kittens was hit by a car while the others were lost in the bush.
City of Rockingham rangers searched for the animals but could not find them.
