The exam will be held in a single day and single shift amid the fear of any malpractice, for which last year students held protests, and the NEET UG 2024 exam for 1,500 students was organised again after errors were found in the same.

This decision follows the guidelines set by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan himself gave hints in the past when he attended Agenda Aajtak in December 2024, for the conduct of the NEET UG 2025 exam in the traditional pen and paper (OMR-based) mode.
The Health Ministry and Education Ministry previously held discussions regarding the format of the NEET-UG examination. Despite considering a shift to a computer-based format, it was decided after two rounds of talks led by JP Nadda that the examination would continue in the pen-and-paper mode.
