New CCTV footage has surfaced in the Bengaluru road rage case involving an Indian Air Force officer and his wife, revealing a physical confrontation between the officer and the alleged assailant. The video threw up a new twist, contradicting the officer’s initial claim of a one-sided attack, showing both parties engaged in the altercation.
In the CCTV video accessed by CNN-NEWS18, Wing Commander Aditya Bose appeared to have initiated the physical assault, with his wife, Squadron Leader Madhumita, also seen engaging in verbal abuse. The officer locked the rider’s neck with his hand and wrestled him to the ground.

Bengaluru police may file a case against the IAF officer if the bike rider, Vikas, decides to complain, following the emergence of new CCTV footage that reveals a different version of events.
If a complaint is filed, the police might straight away register an FIR and issue a warrant asking Wing Commander Bose to join the probe.
Bose earlier posted a video on social media and accused a local resident of attacking him and his wife. According to Bose, the incident occurred when the couple was en route to catch an airport bus. The officer in the video said a biker allegedly stopped their car and began hurling abuse in Kannada.
“When they saw the DRDO sticker on my car and said ‘You DRDO people’, and they abused my wife and I couldn’t bear it,” the officer had said.
Bose said that when he stepped out of the vehicle to confront him, the biker allegedly struck him on the forehead with a key. The biker then allegedly threw a stone at their vehicle, striking Bose again on the head.
The new CCTV footage, however, flipped the narrative. The video showed the IAF officer to be the initiator.
The police have apprehended Vikas, the individual involved in a road rage incident with the IAF officer. He is a resident of Babusapalya in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, DCP D Devaraj said that the CCTV footage shows that it was a clear-cut case of road rage and had nothing to do with the region or language. “The bike key was in the hand of the accused Vikas, and he used it to punch. That is where the officer sustained injuries.”
Devaraj said that Bengaluru police report 3-4 daily road rage cases, but this incident gained prominence after the officer shared it on social media.
“The altercation began when the accused, Vikas, drove recklessly, prompting the lady officer to object. The situation escalated into an argument, with Vikas confronting the officer about his wife’s remarks, leading to a heated exchange and a physical fight between the two men. Both of them have fought like wrestlers on the street,” he added.
