Following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the News Broadcasters & Digital Association (NBDA) has issued an advisory prohibiting its member news channels from inviting Pakistani panellists on their shows.
In an advisory sent to all editors associated with NBDA, the association said that the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has raised concerns regarding channels inviting anti-India commentators from Pakistan in their programme(s) who “propagate false propaganda against India.”

“In view of the recent attack on tourists in Pahalgam, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has drawn our attention to channels inviting anti-India commentators from Pakistan in their programme(s) who propagate false propaganda against India,” the advisory stated.
The NBDA has advised the editors to “refrain from inviting panellists, speakers, and commentators from Pakistan in their programme(s), who are known for espousing views that undermine the sovereignty, integrity, and security of the nation and speak against our country.
The association has requested editors to exercise “a high level of editorial discretion and judgment to ensure that channels/ digital platforms are not misused for anti-India false propaganda. To ensure compliance, the Advisory may be circulated to all concerned editorial personnel,” the advisory added.
This decision follows the recent Pahalgam attack, which has escalated tensions between India and Pakistan, prompting India to take diplomatic and strategic actions against its neighbour.
