Without mentioning the ‘Pahalgam attack’ in her note, she wrote, “Tragedy anywhere is a tragedy for all of us. My heart is with the innocent lives affected by the recent events. In pain, in grief, and in hope—we are one. When innocent lives are lost, the pain is not theirs alone—it belongs to all of us. No matter where we come from, grief speaks the same language. May we choose humanity, always (sic).”

Actor Mawra Hocane, known for her performance in the Bollywood film ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, also didn’t mention the attack but mourned the victims. She wrote, “My deepest condolences to the affected families… An act of terrorism against one is terrorism against all…What’s happening to the world (sic).”

‘Bezuban’ and ‘Main Khwab Bunti Hon’ actor Usama Khan highlighted that terrorism has no place anywhere in the world. He wished strength to those affected by the attack and wrote, “Heartfelt condolences to the families & loved ones of the #PahalgamAttack victims. May they find strength during this difficult time. Terrorism is condemnable, regardless of where it occurs, whether in Pakistan, India, or anywhere else. We should stand against such senseless violence (sic).”

Actor Fawad Khan, one of the biggest Pakistani actors, called the Pahalgam attack ‘horrifying’. Khan is facing a ban on his upcoming Bollywood film ‘Abir Gulal’ in India. He said, “Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident, and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time (sic).”

Celebs and politicians all across the world have condemned the Pahalgam attack on social media. The incident took place on April 22 in the popular Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam where a few terrorists launched an open-fire on tourists, killing 26, including a Nepali citizen. The terror-act has left the entire nation mourning the lives of innocent individuals who simply wanted to make memories for a lifetime with their friends and family members.

India, in retaliation, announced a series of strategic countermeasures against Pakistan to combat “cross-border terrorism”. On Wednesday night, the Ministry of External Affairs called an urgent press conference and outlined many steps, including the definite suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, and an immediate shutdown of the Integrated Check Post at the Attari-Wagah border.

New Delhi also declared the Defence, Naval, and Air Advisers at the Pakistani High Commission persona non grata, giving them a week to exit India. In addition to this, Pakistani nationals have been barred from travelling to India under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme, with all previously issued visas deemed cancelled.
