Police are searching for a group of thieves after a safe filled with cash and expensive jewellery was stolen from an elderly woman’s home.

WA Police say sometime between 7.30am and 1.30pm on May 28, unknown offenders forced entry into a residential premises on Coulston Way in Gosnells and rummaged through the victim’s belongings.

The victim, a woman in her 80s, was not home at the time.

A safe was dragged out of the home and down the driveway. It is not known how the burglars left the premises.

Inside the safe was a significant amount of cash and a large quantity of high-value jewellery including a sovereign coin bracelet.

Several people were spotted in the area at the time including one man described as wearing a black cap and a black and white jacket with gold writing on the back. He was also wearing beige pants and black runners.

Detectives want to speak with this man.
